When the Beatles played Seattle in August of 1964 the maximum ticket price was $5. In January 2009 the Beatles returned! Well, not exactly...but EGH hosted a Beatles sing-a-long at 1964 prices. For $5 guests sang the music of the most storied rock band ever with accompaniment by Brian Maschhoff (guitar), Rich Hinrichsen (bass, piano), and Jim Hunter (drums). Musical friends from all generations joined the band and led the singing. Guests walked through love beads hanging in the doorway, smelled the incense, and began to sing, cry, dance, and hug. The climax of the evening came when people sang "Love Is All You Need" and spontaneously held up lighters, cell phones, and candles creating a wave of illumination in the darkened hall. Plans are underway for Beatles Sing-A-Long 2010. Contact Rich at hinrich@seanet.com if you would like to join the party and volunteer. Peace, Love, and Rock and Roll!
